The water park has invested more than $4 million this year for both this attraction as well as other improvements onsite

POINTE-CALUMET, QC, July 11, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Super Aqua Club, in Point-Calumet, unveiled its brand new attraction today, called Tsunami, which will entertain thrill-seekers of all ages. This aquatic rollercoaster, exclusive to the park, is comparable to a giant slalom descent that lasts around two minutes. Requiring an investment of 3.5 million dollars, this new attraction allows the Super Aqua Club to confirm its position as industry leader in the summer entertainment industry. Designed and manufactured by the Canadian company Proslide, the only other one in existence is a prototype at Siam Park in Spain. Therefore, Super Aqua Club holds exclusivity in North America for the time being, and had the Tsunami custom-designed for the park.

Shivers guaranteed!
The unique saucer shape of this high-speed attraction as well as its abrupt descent will provide visitors with a whole new level of aquatic ride experience! They can enjoy the ride onboard three-seat tubes which slide down dark tunnels at full speed until being launched into open areas shaped like saucers. Consisting of curves with different radiuses, this technology allows for faster sliding, more closed turns, and a greater gravitational force over more than 200 meters. This is a unique attraction in the world, as its technology is still being patented.

"It is with great pride that our team is celebrating the official opening of this new exclusive slide at Super Aqua Club today. We fell in love with Tsunami when we saw its prototype being tested in Spain in September 2015, and immediately started the process to obtain the rights to build one here in Quebec," explains Réjean Julien Proulx, CEO of Super Aqua Club. "The completion of this project, which is valued at $3.5 million, represents months of relentless work with our team. We are very eager to welcome our next visitors over this summer, who will now be able to come and experience the Tsunami!" Mr. Proulx concludes.
